The whale watching season is about to commence and the Gold Coast enjoys a longer whale-watching season than most other areas due to our geographical location. On the Gold Coast whales can be viewed swimming to and from the northern waters for six months of the year!
There are many view points from which whales can be seen, but a longtime favourite is the Burleigh Headland. Jutting out into the sea, the headland provides panoramic views of the ocean and passing marine life.
Whales are also often spotted from the balconies of Burleigh apartments and accommodation as they frolic in the waters just past the surf break.
For a close up look you may be interested in booking a cruise to see these curious creatures of the ocean play and leap, breaching the water, and singing their long whale songs.
